Kai-Michael Hartig

Bio

Kai-Michael Hartig studied music and cultural management in Düsseldorf and Hamburg. After working in cultural sponsorship, he was personal advisor to Hamburg senator for culture until he moved to the Körber-Stiftung, where he built up the culture department. He conceived several concert formats such as “2xhören” and “Ohr zur Welt” and set up a multi-year Masterclass on Music Education. Together with the Elbphilharmonie, he founded the international symposium “The Art of Music Education” in 2008, which will take place for the ninth time from February 28 to March 1, 2024. He is a member of the board of trustees of the Hamburg Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe and the advisory board of the Bundesjugendorchester.
